AI Augmented means we design a workflow where humans stay responsible for intent and judgement, while AI provides leverage: drafting, summarising, generating alternatives, spotting edge cases, and accelerating the boring parts.
In software, AI augmentation works best when the project is spec-driven: clear behaviour contracts, good tests, reproducible builds, and written decisions, so the AI has stable ground and the CI can act as the judge.
In community work, AI augmentation is also social augmentation: it lowers the barrier for strangers to join, helps translate between disciplines, and turns onboarding into a repeatable process, but it only stays healthy if we make provenance, review, and governance explicit.
